The Patek Philippe ref.3448 is one of the most beautifully designed watches in existence. Records indicate 580 examples were made between 1962 and 1981 (Our 3448 hails from 1971.)<\/span><\/p>\n

Design\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

When the watch was released in 1962 critics described it as an elegant yet futuristic watch because it strayed away from what was a normal Patek. The ref.3448 is known by collectors as the “Padellone” and the “Disco Volante”, or “Flying Saucer” in English.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perpetual Movement\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

A beautifully striking feature about this watch is its integrated crown to the case. The movement inside the watch is also very significant as it was Patek\u2019s first automatic movement capable of carrying a perpetual calendar. The movement in question is the 27-460 Q (Q is the designation given to Perpetual Calendars).<\/span><\/p>\n
